JONAKI FOUNDATION

Serves a bigger purpose not only to protect the Jonaki  “the firefly from Bangladesh”. Serves a bigger purpose not only to protect the Jonaki  “the firefly from Bangladesh”, but the need to protect nature and clean environment.

MISSION STATEMENT

Jonaki Fragrance has been on the move since its launch in 2020 and inspired us to initiate a Foundation to save Jonaki from disappearing due to environmental pollution. We decided to set aside a certain percentage of sales proceeds from Jonaki line of products towards creating awareness, protect nature and save Jonaki, the Firefly from Bangladesh.

JONAKI THE MUSE FOR POETS

For writers and poets, Jonaki represents fleeting beauty, hope in darkness, and the poetry of silence. Much like the works of Rabindranath Tagore, where nature often becomes a living metaphor, the firefly evokes themes of longing, romance, and spiritual freedom. Its presence encourages storytelling that is subtle yet profound – stories that glow rather than shout.

PROJECTS
SAVE JONAKI

For Bangladesh, where natural beauty and biodiversity are part of cultural identity, saving Jonaki holds a deeper significance. These tiny glowing creatures are part of cherished childhood memories, rural landscapes, and poetic imagination. Their presence reminds us of a time when nature was closer, cleaner, and more harmonious.  When we protect the habitats of Jonaki and other endangered species, we are also protecting our own future.

ENVIRONMENT

Protecting the environment means preserving biodiversity – the rich variety of life that keeps our planet resilient and vibrant. Even simple actions can make a meaningful difference: reducing the use of harmful chemicals, conserving natural habitats, planting trees, and minimizing light pollution. Both individual awareness and collective responsibility are essential to ensure lasting impact. In essence, saving the environment is about safeguarding life itself. A world where fireflies continue to glow in the night is a world that remains alive, balanced, and hopeful.

MUSE FOR POETS

There is something quietly magical about the Jonaki – the firefly that glows softly in the dark, like a living whisper of light. It does not demand attention, yet it captures the heart. In the stillness of night, when the world slows down, the Jonaki becomes a poet’s companion, a symbol of fleeting beauty, hope, and longing.
In music and art, the Jonaki becomes a muse. Painters capture its glow against deep green fields, musicians evoke its presence in soft, lingering melodies, and poets write of its quiet rebellion against darkness. It is a reminder that even the smallest light has power – that beauty does not need to be loud to be unforgettable.

ABOUT NASREEN ZAMIR

MD

Nasreen Zamir is a visionary entrepreneur whose journey with Jonaki began not only as a fragrance and beauty brand, but as a deeper emotional calling inspired by the quiet brilliance of the firefly – Jonaki. This realization led her to establish the Jonaki Foundation, a platform dedicated to raising awareness about environmental preservation and the protection of fireflies from extinction. Through the foundation, she seeks to inspire and encourage individuals, artists, and communities to cherish nature, express themselves, and contribute to a more conscious and sustainable world.

ABOUT JONAKI FRAGRANCE

Nasreen Zamir is the brainchild of Jonaki Fragrance and Jonaki Beauty.  It is from nature and love for flowers that Jonaki fragrance was conceived.  Jonaki enchanted her childhood and gave her joy, and thus became the brand for the fragrance line. INSPIRATION

VISION

The Jonaki Foundation envisions a world where nature is protected, biodiversity is preserved, and the delicate glow of the firefly continues to illuminate our nights and our imagination. Rooted in a deep commitment to environmental stewardship, the foundation strives to safeguard ecosystems, raise awareness about conservation, and prevent the extinction of fireflies – those tiny yet powerful symbols of life, balance, and beauty.
Through education, advocacy, and creative expression, Jonaki Foundation aims to ignite both responsibility and imagination – empowering individuals to protect the environment while embracing the poetic spirit that nature so effortlessly evokes.

INSPIRATION

Beyond conservation, Jonaki Foundation aspires to be a creative sanctuary – a platform where poets, writers, and artists find inspiration in the quiet magic of nature. Just as the gentle light of the firefly has inspired generations of dreamers, the foundation seeks to nurture a cultural and artistic movement that celebrates the harmony between humanity and the natural world.
At its heart, Jonaki reminds creators that inspiration does not always come from grandeur – it often comes from the quiet, unnoticed corners of nature. In that sense, Jonaki is not just an inspiration; it is a muse that invites artists, writers, and designers to create with sensitivity, depth, and soul.
